Leaky gut?
Hello, I’m hoping to connect with others who may be able to Help with some answers with what I’m dealing with. I have fibromyalgia and am gluten intolerant. I also have eczema that has spread over different parts of my body. My dr prescribed a steroid to help with the eczema, however I am extremely itchy with a rash on arms
Legs torso. Dr thinks it’s all related but I’m not sure
I have had bouts with heart burn s d constipation/diarrhea. I’ve been reading up about leaky gut syndrome and think I have many of
The symptoms. Any tips as to how I can go about this would be appreciated. I’m in the ER now because of severe fatigue feeling faint s d shallow breathing.

Doctor Gundry doesnt exist it is a fake name for advertisers who promote their stuff.
@redmondav when you talk about “floaters”, do you mean the eye floaters? Those squiggly specks you see in your eyes …?
One of my doctors is a recognized world leader in nutritional science and thinks Gundry is a low nutritional information health advisor.
And yet, here is this CHRONICALLY ILL WOMAN who got no help from the likes of the Mayo Clinic or any of dozens of other "doctors," while this doctor's approach, while not a miracle cure has done wonders. Me thinks this is yet another example of ESTABLISHED, FOR-PROFIT MEDICINE trying to slur, slam, shout down any and all with a voice offering anything but DRUGS, DRUGS, DRUGS--incidentally, part of why I got so sick, "doctors' throwing proton-pump inhibitors at me without realizing I had ADVANCED PERNICIOUS ANEMIA. Also, incidentally, an illness THEY NEVER DIAGNOSED. Like most patients, I was "diagnosed" via something I saw on the internet. MY SUMMATION OF "MODERN MEDICINE," for those of us with something unusual, it's USELESS.
Well, if your doctor is so great, he shouldn't be so frightened by other voices. Better yet, instead of LIBELING others, he should focus on his patients.
Kathleen, I LOVE your use of all caps! I am with you on how a lot of modern medicine ie, the dr.s that practice (isn't that a VERY odd word for the medical profession..it really does seem to suggest that we, the sickest people, are just guinea pigs) are useless. When your GI specialist says "I have no idea how the ANS(Autonomic Nervous System) works, you are constipated. If you have nerve issues you need to see a neurologist ". I swear he said this to me. I get the impression that dr. Gundry helped you with something. Would you be willing to share? Personally, I couldn't care less about who, what, where...if it helps me. I have never had PPIs, I refused them. I feel the same about PPIs, reverse mortgages and annuities... but this is my opinion. BTW, I think I was one of the recent negative posts about gundry/oatmeal. metwo,
If nothing else, Dr. Gundry, sure is getting a lot of attention, good and bad. I think all of us should get paid for all the controversial free attention he is getting.🤪Shelley
Kenjack07,
What type and dosage of magnesium?
Epsom salt, drink it or as an enema? Thanx Shelley
Tabithatwitch, love your name.
I am not laughing at you, but I did chuckle when I read that you are literally full of💩and you are going to quit eating. I have had both for 17yrs. You have been through a lot and are getting lots of good advice from others so I will just use a list, good and bad, these are my personal experiences :
Enema: I have given myself many, it doesn't go up inside far enough. They can be very helpful. If you have never had one, they are an irritant and you will want to poop asap, the pressure is intense. The longer you can hold it in the more productive it will be. I get prepared with a towel and pillow, and stay on my knees (I don't lay down) as the pressure builds, I rock back and forth, it seems to lessen the pressure, then rock faster, count to ten, then again, anything to help you hold it in. I had success with Fleet enemas. Salt enemas were a painful failure.
I don't know if after your type of surgery you have to be extra cautious or not.
I currently use 3 capfuls of miralax and 5 Metamucil gummies, 1-2x day as needed. Sometimes I go straight to explosive diarrhea, or mush, or it takes 2 days to get moving.
I have been having X-rays every few months for years, only 1x I was normal. A few had mild poop, most showed heavy fecal load.
I would love to use food/yoga ect but I can't. Example with prunes, I ate 10-25 per day and got more backed up and gained weight.
I am simply too exhausted and in pain to wait to see if prunes or exercise might work. I just noticed that this is a year old post, so... I hope you have found your sweet spot and are doing great. Shelley
