Buzzing in ears

Hi @stomprud, welcome to Connect! Are you able to tell me a little bit more about what you're experiencing? Have there been any other symptoms along with the buzzing? Have you checked the side-effect lists for the specific medications you're on to see if ear buzzing is on there?

Buzzing in the ears could be tinnitus, it happens when there is permanent damage to the sound-sensitive cells of the cochlea, in the ear. You should try to see an ENT doctor to determine if you do have this and if there is any cure, or how to minimize the buzz. Good luck in finding out.

I also have ringing in the ears for quite awhile my doctors say it is caused by hydrospalic,(water in the brain) They wanted put a shunt but I said no.He than prescribed antivert for when the dizzynesss started I looked up some none proscription preventions for vertigo and found Lipoflavinoid in the stores. It has worked for me since 2008. I still get the ringing in the ears but no dizziness. I take Lipoflavinoid once a day

Yes I have ringing in my ears and sometimes a click click click sound and occasionally I hear music. It can be very annoying. During the day there is enough distraction so I don't pay attention to it but at night it is bothersome so I bought a fan and keep it on at night so the noise blocks out the ringing. <br><br>

I do not experience the clicking and music. But the ringing was enough at night where I also played music or other sound effects to distract me from the ringing in my ears. Have you done to an ears specialist about the other noises

I am not taking medication for the buzzing. The buzzing in my ears was inhanced by neuropathy caused as side effect of chemotherapy. There is no effective medicine for neuropathy as there is very little evidence of remedies for tinnitus, however acupuncture may alleviate both. Ginko tea mahy help tinnitus, but I have not started taking it yet so I can not offer proof. Thank you for answering.

Safety shield thanks for your reply. No I haven't seen an doctor for the noises in my ear. I read on the internet that it is common to have all kinds of noises in the ear. It is usually in the right ear where I have otosclerosis which leaves your hearing very low. On my case about 10% hearing except for tinnitus. I had a hearing aid for a while but did not have good results with it. Am planning o ask my gp for s referral as now I'm having hearing loss in my right ear. I'm hoping it is just wax buildup. Have you had good luck with acupuncture ? <br><br>

No but the lipoflavinoid as done wonders for the vertigo. I do still have the ringing in the ears but as you said. When I am active I really do not notice the ringing and at night I do not think of it so for now I am stable and take my probiotic

Acupuncture has worked wonders for me in the past. I just started using aupuncture again and it might take some time since my acupunturist has to address the neuropathy where we think the tinnitus is coming from. Thank you for the information using lipoflavinoid, i might try that as well.
