I have severe long COVID symptoms. Has anyone been treated with Intravenous Immunoglobulin to treat this disease who could please share his/her experience?

I have not,but I would Love to try it and see if it helps me.Two of the nurses at the Labcorp I go to had IVIG for Long Covid at Hopkins and said it worked for them.It is so expensive even with insurance so alot of Doctors are hesitant about trying it.I have a feeling it would help with my symptoms.

I have had 10 rounds of infusions of Immunoglobulin and am scheduled for another 8 more. The scientific literature supports this usage for treating neuropathy and I must say that it helped my problem in my feet. But, my dizziness and poor balance were not affected and that is the problem I would like to get treated. I can only walk using a walker and that is not handy. I was very active and “outdoorsy”, but no more.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I wish I knew which doctor at Hopkins does it. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm so sorry to hear it is not doing what you want. I was ver active too and now I am using a wheelchair and often have to spend my day in bed. May I ask you where you are getting this treatment? Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

My muscle weakness and trouble walking are really bad too.I have lost all of the strength in the trunk of my body.I was hoping that IVIG would help with that.I know that prednisone helped a little though.I was so healthy and active before this as well.

If the nurses are working at the labcorp when I go back I will ask them who the Doctor is.I have extreme muscle weakness especially in the trunk and can barely walk.I just saw the other person's comment here that the IVIG has not helped tbeir muscle weakness yet.I was hoping that IVIG would help with that.I was healthy and exercised all of the time before all of this as well.

My neurologist is in Indianapolis and I have gotten infusions in a hospital in Indy and one in a smaller town nearer my home. The infusion took 3 hours each. That wasn't a problem for me since I am retired. My neuropathy is improved, but I am just as dizzy as before.

I am so sorry about your Mother.I believe we spoke before.I have a feeling your mother and I have something very similar brought on by covid. It is so frustrating.I just keep on going from one Neurologist to another. If any of them can figure it out I will let you know.

I am sorry that you are suffering as well. We are going to yet another movement disorders neurologist on Monday so we will see if she can shed light on anything. Our long Covid doctor has prescribed ivermectin so she will start that next week. Let's keep each other posted.

Did you have this same reaction to the vaccines? My mother has this same issue with her legs after the first few vaccines but it would only last a day. After Covid, it just never went away,
