Can Gabapentin make neuropathy pain worse?
I started getting peripheral neuropathy pain about nine months ago in my feet and hands right after I received a cervical steroid injection. I started taking gabapentin about 7 months ago. I have gradually increased my dose from 100 mg a day to 1500 mg. I can't say that it has decreased my pain at all. In fact, my pain has gotten steadily worse. I was just wondering if it is possible that gabapentin can sometimes make neuropathy pain worse. My EMG and biopsy results are negative for short fiber neuropathy so far.

Truly
It definitely makes you sleepy mid day.
Drs seem to know what sales reps tell them. You have to do your own homework.
Do not rely on drug companies to be honest, they manipulate the study data and are masters of confusion. I have found reading the studies helps. One neorologist told me a drug would cut my migraines in half. A complete misreprentation ok a lie. The study was 2 days less headaches than the placebo out of 19. That ain’t half. Always ask them if they have taken the drug or withdrawn from it. They know very little about the studs they push. Not $1 has been spent by drug companies on tapering off drugs but billions on Developement.
That’s 78 yrs of wisdom and life experience.
Good luck
