Stroke symptoms

Posted by hopefuliny @hopefuliny, Jul 6 10:23am

Has anyone had stroke symptoms from long covid. My mother has been suffering from long covid for 5 months and recently experienced some slurred speech, terrible worsening of balance and gait. She was taken to the hospital but the CT scan showed nothing. We are waiting for results of the MRI. Her speech is now back to normal. They did find a UTI which I know can wreak havoc in older people. My mom is 81. Thank you

Please keep a sharp eye out for UTIs. Older women, post menopausal women may have frequent UTIs and they do wreck havoc. If your mother is in this situation, please get her in to see a urologist ( seeing a female urologist may be more comfortable for her). Use of an prescription estrogen cream, a pea-size amount on the vaginal opening, 2 to 3 nights per week may prevent most of the UTIs.

She may have microclots. She can find out at Medhelp with Dr. Vaughn. I went through treatment with him and glad I did.
