Vitamin B complexes.
I take a vit B complex capsule everyday for my PN. Lately I learned that some of the vitamins are not in their most bioavailable form, for example B1 thiamine should be Benfotiamine and B12 must be methylcobalim. Has any one sussed this problem out.

I have just started ALA .I am starting on 200mg but I am not sure when to take it. I take other meds at 8am and 6pm, 8pm can you advise me please
John
I’ve been taking R-ALA since 2016. I take it in the morning along with my blood pressure medication and in the evening. It’s important to discuss any supplements you take with your doctor. I talked with my doctor when I first started back in 2016 to make sure there were no issues.
I’m an early riser and take my meds and morning supplements around 6 to 7 am and evening ones around 5 pm.
I have searched the various treatments for peripheral neuropathy until I’m blue in the face and I am no nearer selecting one. The only one that seems to show promise is R-ALA and Benfotiamine. Unfortunately when I tried them I got an upset stomach so I’ve stopped taking them. The clinical trials I’ve seen seem to show that R-ALA and Benfotiamine are the only supplements that work. I’m completely baffled. I took a relatively low dose I.e. 200mg R-ALA and 300mg Benfotiamine. Any advice please. John
If you are taking the supplements on an empty stomach that might make it more likely to cause nausea. Might be worth trying to take a bite of a banana or other food when you take the supplements to see if it helps with the nausea.
I take 300mg of Benfotiamine with dinner, as it is fat soluable. I believe it is helping keep arteries healthier, as I have found ALA has no noticable effect. But I should probably take R ALA too.
Does ALA work for none diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Does anyone have ALA injected
Has anyone heard of the MTHFR gene? I was tested and have this gene. Basically this means that my body does not metabolize B Vitamins well. B vitamins are critical for nerve and brain health. I use methylized B Vitamins and it has really been a game changer for my numbness and tingling in my legs. The MTHFR test is offered several companies. Seeking Health and Life Extension are two companies that I know offer this test. Millions of people carry this gene.
