I have mild Copd but within the last week I’m experiencing edema. Went to primary dr and he prescribed Lasix. So far little difference. I’m going to pulmonologist tomorrow. I had heart checked out in Jan- ekg, echo, circulatory and had a heart monitor- all were good- I know that doesn’t mean something hasn’t changed.
Also I’d been going to a Salt Room once a week for the last several weeks prior to the edema . The inhalation definitely helped my breathing. No idea if this contributed to the edema.
Anyone else experiencing edema?
May you all have a blessed & joyous day.

Hi I have moderate COPD and am on O2 24/7 but also have a portable so I can get lots of exercise. I am also on prednisone when I get a flare up which causes edema. Are you taking any steroid medications. A side effect can be fluid retention. Lots of things to learn about with COPD. Learning curve keeps increasing. The more I know, the better I can manage it without having to go to the hospital! Hope this helps!

Thanks Grayner for the tip abt edema & Pred. I’m not on pred but I use Breztri for several years.
I was at my pulmonologist and she has me raising my legs and walking more. So far no change.

I've been raising the legs as well above the heart! Most of the Doctors want us to get more exercise, guess I can comply somewhat! Aging is a process and I'm not sure I like the whole idea - not much I can do about it, just still smile and laugh! Hope this finds you better!
