Eye problem seeing in the dark

Posted by tcainaru @tcainaru, 4 days ago

I had cataract surgery because I noticed I could not see well in the dark. Several months later my eye sight seeing in the dark has gotten worse. Retina was checked and that ok. I am 71 and diabetic with microvascular brain inchemnia. What could be causing this? Have not found a Dr yet to why this is happening?

I had cataract surgery many years ago. I'm now 79 and I don't see well at all in the dark. Are you on some eye drops that may also be affecting your vision?

Let your neurosurgeon know of any vision changes since vision can be affected by micro vascular brain ischemia. Ophthalmologists won’t be able to help you. Your neurosurgeon needs to be aware of any vision changes and will explain to you why. By the way, many of us in your age bracket (70s and 80s) have diminished night vision. I don’t drive anymore at night…had cataract surgery in the 1980s…have mild dry macular degeneration but can see fine during daylight. Diabetes can also affect eyesight. Just be aware of a sudden vision change and have your numerologist keep on top of it and follow his advice about diet or smoking or weight.
