Which Refresh eye drops for dry eye/also have glaucoma

Hi, I'm on two types of drops for glaucoma, but I also have dry eye. Refresh has so many options. Which drops (OTC) have you found to work best and need less frequently?

Dry eye is a struggle. I’ve dealt with it for years. I see an ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea issues. I check with her before using any eye product. Can you check with your doctor to make sure what’s best, considering your condition? Sometimes, I send a private message through the online medical chart portal and the doctor or their nurse responds in a couple of days.

Thanks for your input. I did contact my dr's office, but haven't yet heard back from them. I guess I'm just impatient! And wondered if there was someone out there with glaucoma and dry eyes, but you're right--each person and their condition is unique. I'll wait it out!

You may get a response with some one who has both conditions. I hope so. I just always lean towards caution with things and my eyes. I also have Salzmann’s nodules.

Praying for you. I do not have glaucoma, but, I have really dry eyes from having Fibromyalgia & Cataract Surgery.

I use Systane Complete twice a day. It is the best for dry eyes I have found. Blessings....

I have got comma and I’m on two different drops and I have very dry eyes and my doctor said to use over-the-counter eyedrop’s every two hours. I find that systane complete Works very well.

I also have glaucoma and use two drops in my left eye. I have a shunt in my right eye and have not had to use drops in that eye for several years now. I use Refresh Optive Advanced. This has been the most effective eye drop for me and is highly recommended by my ophthalmologist. I have also used Systane but the results have not been as satisfactory.

How many times do you use the Refresh a day?

Tip for eye drop brands: You can be allergic to eye drops so if your eyes sting, itch or hurt consider and switch to a different brand or type of eye drop.

At least once a day. It depends on how much sleep I get, if I am reading or on the computer too much, or if I am dealing with cold or wind. Usually I use Refresh two or three times a day. If I need to, I will use it two or three times an hour. You can use Refresh as often as you like. If your eyes are feeling dry and tired, put a drop in each eye. If they are really sore, you can flood the eye to get relief. Also, when it's sunny, I wear a good pair of fit-over sunglasses that also block light from the sides for protection. If any eye drop is irritating your eye, it's because of the preservative in the eye drop. Both of my eyes get dry because of medications I am taking. My left eye is typically more dry and irritated because of my eye medications. I try to keep this eye well lubricated.

Your situation might be different. I am dealing with dry mouth also. My dry eye issues might be worse for me than what you are experiencing. You will just have to experiment to see what works. If I am having an allergic reaction to my glaucoma drops, I will use GenTeal Gel for dry eyes. I think the Refresh gel drops would work too. Gel drops are thicker than normal artificial tears, so I generally use them at night just before I go to bed.
