Safe to see a Chiropractor for back pain with Multiple Myeloma?

Posted by Angie P. @ancopau1998, May 25 8:30am

I have chronic low back pain, I wanted to know if a Chiropractor could help and would it be safe to see with Multiple Myeloma? And if anyone has seen one for back pain.

Hi @carefor, what is a NUCCA Chiropractor? Your friends that see a Chiropractor do they have MM? Thanks for the info.

It would be easier if you looked it up and called the one in your area.
I do not have the information you need I was just sharing my experience.
I hope the best ....

I looked up NUCCA and the picture on their home page scares me. I doubt if my neurosurgeon would be happy trying to undo damage caused,

In our case it was a chiropractor who prescribed the MRI that first revealed the bone lesions pointing to MM. We have continued working with that chiropractor through MM treatment at Mayo, though with strict limitations on chiropractic treatment modalities.

In short, a well qualified, well trained chiropractor can have a place on the treatment team under certain circumstances.

@mikxtr

I would also be concerned of bone lesions and compromised bone strength.

There are aggressive treatments and more gentle ones. A good chiropractor will use muscle release and soft tissue treatments judiciously.
