Is anyone terrified of coughing up blood, and how do you deal with it?
I’ve had bronchiectasis for around 20 years with relatively no problems until early 2020 when I was diagnosed with mycobacterium simiae. I cough up a lot of mucus throughout the day, sometimes with blood I’m it. Several times I have coughed up 1/8 - 1/4 cup of blood, which totally terrifies me. I would love to connect with others who are terrified by bleeding, and also find out how you deal with it and what doctors have done to stop it.

Thank you so much.
I always found these NJH guidelines helpful
I cough blood often. Terrifies me every time. My Drs don’t seem concerned. I don’t want to ever have to go to the hospital with this because I don’t know what they might do. I know arterial blood gas test is extremely painful.
I fully expect to have an Embolization someday. I went through a failed resection years ago.
