PVC'S GONE! First Day Of Outer Banks Vacation!

Posted by shorisha @shorisha, May 18 2:59am

I have to share this. I have been having significant PVC's for about a year. I was having up to 17 PVC's in 30 seconds ECG's. Yesterday, my first day of vacation in Kill Devils Hill NC, I checked my heart twice, PERFECT RYTHM, NO PVC'S.

I don't understand this.

Well, that tells you something. Maybe you need a permanent vacation 🙂

Is there something in your home environment that could be contributing to PVC's?

Stress is a big risk factor for PVCs.

My PVCs are 0 - 2 per minute most mornings when I get up but by the time the phones, emails and texts arrive I can have 20 per minute. Reduce stress as much as you are able.

I do worry too much. Also my work (DEA) is always on my mind.. but turned off work phone and did not take my work laptop... so maybe that's it?

@shorisha this may sound strange but I am sensitive to radiation from wifi and devices after a serious electric shock. It is a little out there but could you be reacting to the phone, laptop, wifi etc? Arrythmias are in the list of effects of EMF. Hope you don't think I am woo woo!!

Stress has a lot to do with PVCs and PACs. Reducing it helps reduce them. Being on a vacation and enjoying it is reducing stress. Look to do more stress releiving activities.

Actually sometimes relaxing can sometimes bring on heart arrythmias, especially when a period of high stress ends. It is highly individual and variable.

I have never had an EP, cardiologist, or heart failure doctor tell me trying to reduce stress and reducing stress can cause PVCs, PACs.

Deep breathing, relaxation, hobbies, exercise that you like, music what every makes you relax and reduce stress is and has always been what my doctors have told me and every research I have done on this at major medical institutions. I am passing on to MCC what my doctors and reserach has said to help reduct PVCs and PACs.

If relaxation and stress reducing activities affects your PACs and PVCs then it is a very highly individual reaction. The stress reducing techniques are some of the many things that can help stress come down. I am puzzled by the "when stress ends" and then doing stress reducing techniques to reduce stress when the stress has ended.

I have read this is not uncommon @jc76. When I have time I will find an aritcle.

I do tai chi, Reiki, walk and generally relax. Of course those things help,

An example of afib happening after stress: if someone is very afraid of flying, the heart copes with the stress, but once landed, and relaxed again, afib can happen.

I noticed an article on this phenomenon because I have experienced it.

More generally, of course stress reduction is wise and should be pursued to keep the heart calmer.
