What are some favorite movies?

I have loved movies since I first watched Tarzan as a kid. Now they are a valuable distraction for me as I feel empty and isolated and alienated. Here are a few of my favorites:

Adaptation
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Saving Private Ryan
Little Miss Sunshine

Scott, I have a list of dozens and dozens. My memory is shot, so I want to have a reference. You have good taste if they're made before 1970. Any special ones?

I love this movie. It always makes me laugh and cry. The cast is amazing. It’s loosely based on the real life of Cameron Crowe.

I have liked the movie, A MAN CALLED OTTO. It's a 2022 movie starring Tom Hanks. But it's a classic in my book.

I agree! Several years before the movie came out, I read the book the movie was based on. Sometimes movies do not live up to the book, but this one did.

Fantastic film!

Phillip Seymour Hoffman stole the show, as usual.

My wife bought me the Stillwater Tshirt where everybody except Billy Crudup's blurry. I get a LOT of comments in public. The movie really struck a chord!

Before the Tom Hanks version, which I have not seen, there is a Swedish version (2015) called _A Man Called Ove_ that is wonderful.

We just saw American Fiction from 2023. We thought it was quite good.

In general, one thing my wife and I have done, is go through the list of all the Academy Award winning films (and the nominations too).

Through that we have found many great movies.

The foreign film winners, in particular, were all amazing. Makes sense, because they are basically taking the single best movie made outside of the US every year. That is a big group of films to choose from. So, the very best of that group are usually very very good.

Yes! The bands are supposedly a mixture of actual artists, but mainly The Allman Brothers Band, back in the day. I’m a big fan.

My favorite lines:
Does anyone remember laughter? (Zeppelin reference)
And

You ARE home. By Penny Lane head Bandaid.

My second favorite movie is
