Can anyone share their experience with Pluvicto?

My 85 year old dad has prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. Zytiga is no longer effective. He is considering Pluvicto. I would appreciate input from those who have used Pluvicto.

For anyone following my thread about my personal experience with Pluvicto, this is an update on my current radiation readings and my personal protocol.

I am now one week from my fourth infusion and my radiation readings are:

Arm length: 0.2
One foot away: 0.4
On body: 1.2

I have isolated myself for the first week, spending most of my time alone in the bedroom, leaving only to eat or go to the bathroom. No personal contact closer than three feet.

Now, with my current readings at the end of one week I will loosen that up a bit, allowing casual contact, the occasional hug or handshake but no prolonged contact. No snugging on the couch watching Netflix and no sleeping with my spouse in order to not expose her with prolonged contact to my 1.2 current actual radiation level.

For those following my Pluvicto treatment, my personal protocol and why, I am now two weeks after my fourth Pluvicto radiation infusion.

My current radiation readings are:

Arms length (3 feet): 0.01

One foot away: 0.03

Next to body: 0.22

If you recall, they turn you loose from the hospital when your 3 foot reading is around 3.

So my personal experience as above shows a decline in my 3 foot measurement from a 3 to a negligible 0.01.

With my next to body reading having declined to 0.22 I now deem myself to be relatively safe to be with people and to have extended contact.

My concern on all of this is to NOT cause "collateral radiation damage" to any caregivers, friends and loved ones. The cumulative level of damage through exposure is the strength of the radiation times the amount of time exposed. At my current next to body reading of 0.22 millirems per hour a person who was in constant contact with me for one hour would receive only 0.22 millirems of radiation. This may be compared to the standard cumulative radiation limit level of 100 millirems per year.

To summarize, my personal protocol is to isolate myself completely for one week, to allow casual, but no extended contact for the second week after treatment, and to resume "normal" life thereafter until my next treatment which comes in four more weeks if thete are no complicating factors.

Hope this information has been useful to those who are interested in a deeper dive into the effect of Pluvicto treatments on their body as it relates to radiation exposure to caregivers, friends and family.

How are you feeling?
Did you have to take additional chemo before you started Pluvicto?
God bless!

No. I had previously elected to NOT have chemotherapy because it made no sense to me to kill off everything and hope that the good came back faster than the bed.

When I first discovered Pluvicto I lobbied my oncologist for months to give me that treatment, but his hands were tied by the (then) FDA requirement that a person had to have had chemotherapy before qualifying for Pluvicto. I wanted it because, unlike chemotherapy, it was a treatment that targeted only the cancer cells. After many months of frustration on my part the requirement for chemotherapy began to loosen up. I am one of the few patients in the first wave of receiving Pluvicto without having previously had chemotherapy.

My 85 year old dad had his first Pluvicto treatment on May 14 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. He has not had chemo either as he dr felt he was not a candidate for it due to his weakened condition. Please post about your experience with Pluvicto as your treatment progresses.

Like you, I was admitted to the Pluvicto plan wthout having chemo first. Same reasons you expressed.
I had my second injection last Thursday, 09 May. I brought my geiger counter along and had the Physicist check it out. At his suggestion, I also measured the radiation of the injection syringe - at the tip, it measured about 150 mR/h and along the sides (it is inside a water-filled cylinder) it measured about 50 mR/h. I thought you might find that interesting.

eugenelapietra1 What were your symptoms if you don't mind me asking? Have you seen any improvement with the cancer?

Had my 5th Pluvicto thursday and am feeling great. I stopped all other medication which I'm certain was causing all the chaos in my body. After 1 week I was back to normal. No hacking or shortness of breath,no exhaustion no neuropathy, no joint pain, no blurry vision, no confusion. And I sleep great. Now I'll have to wait and see if the Pluvicto has any side affects. I'm not sure what you mean , what were my symtoms? Thank you Gene

This is very encouraging to hear something positive about Pluvicto.
