After treatment
Hi
Surgeries are done radiation is done starting tamoxifen I feel lost after living this for 6 months I was so happy the night I came home from radiation being completed now I just feel a sadness and empty it's very strange does anyone else feel this way after they're done their treatments surgeries. I live alone and I had to go to another city to have my treatment so had to live in a hotel where there were other cancer patients so you constantly had people around you to talk and maybe that's the issue not sure plus I have the fatigue after treatment and just don't feel up to doing a lot

@dmay570, you're so right. Feeling isolated is not uncommon.
For anyone looking for virtual support meetings for women with breast cancer, there are a few to choose from in the Events on Mayo Clinic Connect https://connect.mayoclinic.org/events/
@dmay570, may I ask, where are you in the cancer journey? How are you doing?
Hi
I am 5 weeks out from my radiation therapy treatment being completed and my fatigue seems to be getting worse does anyone else experience this it's crazy I also have fibromyalgia . I had 20 treatments in 10 days felt great during treatment but now it's like a freight train has hit me. Can anybody tell me when this might start to get better it takes everything I have to function in a day. Prior to radiation I had two surgeries 2 months apart and I was up the day after surgery walking my 30 minutes 5 days a week now I can't seem to do that I probably can if I really push myself.
I’m also about 5 weeks out and have the same heavy fatigue and sleepiness. Times I can hardly keep my eyes open and no stamina. I also have Addison’s and take some heart meds that probably contribute but they’re not new. Would love to know how others recovered.
Hi
Sorry you're going through that too but glad you shared because sometimes I feel like I'm crazy. Yesterday I never got out of bed all day not quite a bit today I feel better I guess it's just succumbing to the fatigue when it hits
I know. Oncologist told me ppl experience minor fatigue and an extra half hour of sleep a night should be sufficient but that’s definitely not the case for me. I push a little bit but honestly think we need to listen to our bodies. I just hope it goes away.
Hi
I don't think the doctors know unless they've been through it themselves my buddy had major surgery in September for cancer on his face and he is still having to nap every day after his radiation it ended December 15th
I’m sorry. It takes a while to heal. You’ll get there. Do your stretches, and try to walk a bit- but you also have to listen to your body. Eat right, take a rest, do a little,.. took me about 5 weeks for my skin to heal from radiation-fatigue will subside.
I did not have that experience though I do have days when I feel the same as you. Fortunately for me, they are few and far between. Hoping yours also become few.
Hi
I called the cancer hospital I had my treatment at and spoke to the radiation nurse yesterday. I told her what my symptoms have been and she said the fatigue can last 6 months to one year I was like are you kidding. I hope that is not the case.
At least a year for me - after chemo and radio. Was 75 at the time.
