I am to have a electronystagmography test. It sounds like what you went through. Did they put water in your ears and position your head in different ways? I was wondering how you are now.

I see this is a five year old conversation.
I am also in a bind for finding good help even though I have seen well respected ENTs in three counties!
I lost a lot of hearing after a plane flight. I am not deaf, but my hearing is distorted with tinnitus and hyperacusis. I was also told by an ENT that I undoubtedly had nerve damage, and that there was no treatment. I left his office in tears never to return.
I wear hearing aids, and have had balloon inflation to my Eustachian tubes. That procedure made my distorted hearing worse. The hearing aids do very little for me. If I turn up the volume I also turn up the hyperacusis.
I am at my wits end, completely debilitated, and unable to participate in life.
This has been going on for two years. I find my life not worth living any longer.
