RECOVER-VITAL Screening Visit Set

I have my initial visit for the RECOVER-VITAL Paxlovid study at UNC set for 4/29/2024 and then receive medication a week later. I am so excited to be in this study. I will provide updates.

The Yale study on Paxlovid for long COVID is a separate study and altho they have pushed out the result release date several times now hopefully they will be out sometime in Summer 2024.

I started the clinical trial officially on 5/8/2024. I was grouped into the cognitive cluster, although I have features of all the clusters. I received the ritanovir and either nirmatrelvir or placebo. I won’t know until the study is completely over. I also don’t know how long I’m taking the nirmatrelvir (0 days, 15 days or 25 days). So far, I feel terrible. I have bad headaches, nightmares and bad tremors/shakes. Any physical exertion makes me so weak and shaky, I feel as though I’m going to faint. I had all these before, but it seems very amped up. I’m sticking with it, though. I just hope it’s the full combo instead of just ritonavir.

Hello! I started on 5/8 with whatever protocol I was randomly assigned to. I’ve had some nasty side effects since day 1 and I was not expecting it. Has your wife had any side effects ?
