My most sincere and humble thanks to you for your comments! My heart breaks for you and your pain...I am 7 weeks post spinal fusion and a micro discectomy. Fusion of L2-4 and the discectomy was between L4-L5. I've been told it could be up to 6 months before I feel normal again. These two were my 14th and 15th big surgeries lol... looking to be a contestant if they ever host a show called "Scar Search"..
It is so wonderful to read of longevity in marriage! 51 years!! My wife and I will celebrate 41 in June! It's good that your son is being so helpful! We have 5 children from 38 down to 18 lol 3 were adopted as a sibling group in 2009!
My heart breaks for your husband and dementia... both my in laws passed away from that.
Ironically I just recently penned a piece that deals with that. If you know anything about my poetry, know that it's never planned, never thought out, and usually takes me less than 5 minutes to write, without any editing, or searching for the right words. These pieces come to me at any time, and in any place. From parking lots, to behind the wheel. I've written at banquets, and in church during a funeral. I don't edit, I just write what comes, and do my magic to make it presentable.
I am attaching a copy of the poem written for altzheimers and dementia patients, I hope it helps you in some way...
Peace
God Bless
Joe K
