IOL Exchange After Cataract Surgery

Was wondering if anyone knows if Medicare will pay for a new IOL if it needs to be replaced because if visual problems caused by the first lens

I think yes - as long as it isn’t a lens or lens enhancement they wouldn’t pay for to begin with (e.g. Toric lens).

But I never cease to be surprised at what Medicare won’t pay for. Your doc should know.

Medicare completely covered the cost of the exchange for me in February. It also covered the lens because it was a monofocal.
