I have had IBS most of my life. Its not fun. Idt either be constipated or have diarrhea. I started taking my magnesium pills at night instead of the morning.. when I wake up, I go to the bathroom with no problem. Its loose, but I don't care, it's better than suffering and I go regularly
You might check out Sipos and possibly gastroparesis.. both are similar symptoms. They both may be rare but they are occurring more often now . Good Luck And feel better..
I used to suffer from constipation.
Stayed at a vacation home of a gastroenterologist, and watched him and his wife, who is also a doctor, take Matamucil daily.
Have done that ever since and did not have anymore problems.
Hello my name is Hikeemah and I also suffer from chronic constipation for years now. Be me pushing so much I have prolapse rectum. To solve your issue and what I do it's a medication called Senna it helps a lot. You can ask your gastrointolgist or primary doctor for the prescription. It works pretty good for me but everyone body system is different. Again Senna and you can get this over the counter. Don't push please don't push!! I know you feel miserable not able to move your bowels the way you used to trust me in know you pain and mental health because of this issue. I wish you well. Please update me when or if you try it out. May God give you complete healing in all areas of your life. God bless you.
Hello it's a generic brand but you can get the product over the counter. Ask you GI or primary doctor if the can give a prescription you take to pharmacy. Prayfully it's free but it's also inexpensive. I wish you the best. I take 20 mg in the morning and a night. May the Lord be with you all ways .
You might also ask for them to look at your liver and pancreas enzymes. The root cause may be not enough bile salts or other being produced to break down food as productively as should be.
Perhaps that is the definition of SIBO or gastroparesis-I am going to ask ! Hope you find the answer and post!
The "I" in CIC is idiopathic, meaning the cause of the constipation is unknown. Every one is different so there is no one-size-fits-all solution. I do take Miralax every night and that seems to help along with a stimulant laxative. (I should not be taking the laxative as often as I do but there seems no other good option - so don't do what I'm doing, or talk w/ your Dr first.) That said, there is no regularity to this. I'm told it's part of getting old (I'm 69y/o and very fit). I'm kinda tired of being told various ailments are part of getting old. I don't buy that, well, not for everything.
You mentioned pediatrician but perhaps was mistyped?
Please see a gastroenterologist. I had two tests and was diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction with a rectocele.
I’m hesitant to start celebrating, because it’s so early, but I’m still having BMs despite not taking any Miralax in a week! It’s not normal though. It’s mushy. I’m grateful though. I have consciously included cooked beets
, mixed veggies, beans and whole grains in my diet. But, I did that before and it made no difference. So, what’s causing this shift? Meds are the same. Water intake the same. Idk.
Regarding peanut butter…I saw a nutritionist because I have IBS. Tried the FODMAP diet ( very hard) and learned the trigger foods which I avoid now. She told me that peanut butter was a good protein. I put it on rice cakes. But, there are days when I do feel constituted and wonder if the peanut butter is the cause. Someone mentioned that they weren’t diagnosed with IBS because they did not have bloody stools. Get another opinion because I never had bloody stools. My gastro has given me several Rx to try and all have given me terrible cramps, bloating and major diarrhea (can’t leave the house). I have been constipated for 3 days now and I do not want to take a laxative. Anyone else with this problem and found a solution? Thanks in advance.
I am in shock, because I forgot to take my daily Miralax yesterday…however, I still went today several times!!! I have no idea why. I didn’t eat very healthful food yesterday, like I normally do. I had a Cesar fried chicken wrap with homemade chips! I never eat that way, but did for a special occasion. I am going to refrain from taking it again today and see what happens…….praying it’ll be good.
