I'm 57 yo male. I've had it about 3 years and started the Lipo flavonoids right away. They work pretty well for me. I still have constant ringing of some sort but when I stop taking them it increases about 50 percent or more until I get enough back in my system. I typically take 4-6 per day. I also notice a big increase when I eat a real salty meal and especially when I take a lot of NSAIDS. Stress/anxiety definitely magnify it for me. I have never taken ativan but I have taken several other prescriptions for other issues that have made the tinnitus worse. Gabapentin and Crestor being 2 of them. Just because it isn't listed as a side effect doesn't mean anything as far as I can tell. Praying your problem will clear up without the ativan in your system.
Hearing Aids 3 months ago have helped override my Tinnitus almost 90% . I have significiant hearing loss with Tinnitus. Caffeine & Salty foods tend to make my Tinnitus worse.
Yes, they are difficult to get use too, BUT, worth it!
I developed tinnitus from taking lexapro, an SSRI. I stopped taking it after month and hope it will cure tinnitus.
SSRI's have been known to cause tinnitus as a side effect.
I developed tinnitus after taking lexapro. Was on it for about 5 weeks. I stopped taking it and hope and pray that it will go away once it leaves my system. People are not aware that antidepressants can cause tinnitus,
Leaf blowers are making mine so much worse. I run out and get in my car with noise cancelling headphones and must look crazy!
Hello I've had tinnitus and hypercucasis for several years now. Needless to say it's been difficult to put mildly. Anyway taking a flight to Mexico, which meets I'll be on the Flight for 6 hours
I know can where my ear plugs, but my audiologist said not to where noice canceling headphones. Also is it alright to wear the ear plugs for the entire flight? Thank you
Hello and thank you for asking your question.
My short response is as being trained by a Tinnitus professor I only wear noise canceling headphones because wherever you sit in the plane the engines are to loud. They have headphones that allow you to connect to your phone to download soft music or white noise. They also come with a button that is a feature you utilize to hear what you need to hear by pressing on and off. They are battery operated. If you require more information I am an American Tinnitus Association support leader and please feel free to email me at tvtinnitus@gmail.com. I would be glad to help...
Thank you for responding so quickly. I'll have to purchase the headphones before the trip.

Hearing aids were the answer for my tinnitus. I fought getting them for a long time and I am so glad now that I got them. I'm 90% free of tinnitus when I wear them.
