What exactly is a diaphragmatic hernia?
I guess this goes with the pulmonary. I asked my gastro doctor about it. He didn't say much. I wonder if it's a hernia like other ones. It's on the right side of my diaphragm
Has anyone experienced this? Thanks

@leelou03, according to this article from Mayo Clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/congenital-diaphragmatic-hernia/symptoms-causes/syc-20544249
"A congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a rare condition that happens in a baby before birth. It occurs early in pregnancy when a baby's diaphragm — the muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen — fails to close as it should. This leaves a hole in the diaphragm. The hole is called a hernia."
Is this something you are dealing with as an adult?
There is an amazing center at Columbia Medical Center in New York that specializes in diaphragm issues. This is from their website: https://columbiasurgery.org/conditions-and-treatments/diaphragmatic-hernias
Thank you for the information. I'll talk to my pulmonologist about it
