Did it or has it helped with your inflammation? I don’t know if you will respond to this post, being your original post was 2023.

A doc wanted me to start a Mediterranean diet severely modified to supposedly anti-inflammatory in nature. When I asked my pain management doc about it, she said it would “in theory”.

The other doc wanted me to eat only veggies, fish & fruit.
No: Dairy No: Meats (white or red)
No: nuts or beans

I tried by her restrictions lifted (my reality):
To include: dairy; fat free, Greek yogurt (oikos), some cheese in salad, chicken breast…

The first month I had basically only salads including fruit. I did well in that way, but it was considered a fail because it was not following her diet plan.

So now, I’m seeing a nutritionist this week, God wiling.
Attention to: diabetes, liver, pain, inflammation.
So I want a custom diet (realistic) that I can follow week to week.

Easier prep, simple foods. I am starting to eat wraps. I know it has some cheese but if it’s all veggie with a little chicken, how could I go wrong? Lol

I’m in love with homemade tzatziki sauce. Its base is plain Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, My favorite.

Good luck to everyone trying something!

I haven't started it yet due to some gut issues flared up by either food poisoning or Norovirus.
I thank you for your well wishes. I pray that you can find the right "fit" for you!

I’m in a 10 week hospital sponsored program which gives me a choice of a meal plan to follow….Mediterranean or all plant-based. I’m following the Mediterranean. In 6 weeks my triglycerides have been cut in half, good cholesterol up & bad is down. Bonus is 6 pounds lost.

I follow a Mediterranean Diet. It helps me feel more energized and sleep better. I have atherosclerosis with a high plaque burden and this diet is recommended by the American Heart Association. It's easy to follow the diet because I like the food choices.

Hello: I have a Mediterranean diet cookbook and other healthy cookbooks I use. I strive to fill my shopping cart with a rainbow of colors of fruit and veg. We adjusted what we buy: poultry/fish more often and typically no more red meat.
Think about the stop light when you shop, what are the green for go foods, so healthy you don't have to limit them? Yellow stop light foods means slow down and limit them, and red stop light foods means try to avoid altogether.
I use the internet a lot to search for healthy recipes.

I’m constantly trying to eat better aka healthier. Not especially by using a diet plan per se ( tried Mediterranean diet but it’s especially difficult when your spouse isn’t on it and doesn’t cook). At age 77 next month I’m still learning not to eat certain things: such as pasta, potatoes, any kind of cooked tomatoes ( raw is ok, not sauces with tomatoes); I used to love a cold glass of milk, not so anymore but I have been using (ie drinking) an ultra filtered milk with no lactose). I can eat yogurt, cheese is ok in small amounts ( some types better than others). I love most vegetables but try to limit or avoid the starchy ones. Cutting way back on red meat but love bacon ( go figure, my cholesterol numbers are fine). I cut out all sweets & refines carbs for a month after Christmas and lost 10 lbs ( after 2 weeks of withdrawal headaches). Unfortunately after eating that stuff again I gained back 5 lbs. I know what to eat & what to avoid, I think if we listen to our gut, brain and body we don’t need any “diet”. Just need willpower 😂

I’ve been on the Mediterranean Diet for 2 1/2 years. It’s been an adjustment; however, it’s been a good one in my opinion. There are reports that it can help control and prevent the spread of cancer. The Mayo Clinic detected cancer in a lymph node when doing my surgery. I was given three options: radiation, Lupron shots or active surveillance. I’ve been doing AS for 30 months and my PSA is still undetectable. I’ve grateful.
Good luck with your diet, and I hope your wife gets on board.

You may have already seen this. But, just in case, here is information to help. I've been on the diet for years and it is delicious as well as an incredibly healthy way of eating!
