I lost 80% of my hearing about 6 weeks ago after having covid. I can pop my ears and it returns for about 20 minutes. When I wake in the morning it is ok until I get up and move around and the hearing loss comes back. My head feels like it in a fog.

I explained what it was and the signs so she would understand for the next patient and not treat like a regular ear infection.

Did you tell them you have Sudden
Sensory hearing loss? Someone should get you in on an emergency basis.
I lost total hearing one day, got in that same day to an ENT, but he thought it was a virus. I wasted valuable time.
After dealing with medications, I went to another doc and got steroid shots in my ear. But it was too late. I’m totally deaf in my right ear, and it won’t be coming back.

I’m about 6 months into the same thing. The worse part for me has been numbness of my face on the right and the feeling of being stuffed up on the right side. After two ENT’s and an ear MRI they think a coclier might help. Not sure I’m going to do that if I can live with it. I would like to know how other single side hearing loss people get along with the coclier.

My doctor said that similar symptoms were eustachian tube blockage and suggested I start clearing my sinus with saline, plus use an antihistamine like Zyrtek. I have only had this work if I repeated the saline rinse many times. So while not an absolute cure , at least I knew what was happening. Sometimes I can’t hear out of my left ear and sometimes the right. I had “chain reconstruction” surgery on both ears and it did not help.
