Hopefully your insurance is better than mine, with my Medicare and supplemental insurance the Tyrvaya was $450 a month.
I contacted my eye doctor’s office the first time I saw the Tyrvaya commercial and did the Rx spray for 3 months with possibly some improvement.
After seeing an Ophthalmologist at Mayo I’m trying Autologous Serum drops. After only 5 days my eyes do feel better, I'm hopeful for continued improvement.
I tried acupuncture (20 treatments, twice a day for 10 days). The acupuncturist said it was a protocol developed in France to treat eye conditions. Unfortunately, it did not work, and the treatments were expensive, almost $4,000.
@gunillac Hi I'm Lioness I also have dry eyes,nose@mouth I use Biotin m.w for dry mouth ,Eye drops for dry eyes fairly often during day ,drink lots of water 64oz id preferable cool washcloth on eyes and just put up with it good luck
After just 6 days I would say the eye drops have helped more than the spray. BTW the drops are $300 a month but at this point I'm willing to try most anything to get some relief.
I don’t have Sjogren’s that I am aware of. I tested negative, but have an appointment with a rheumatologist in late summer. Do you take any meds for Sjogren’s that help dry eye?
I use the pads that you heat in the microwave. It loosens the oil glands that lubricate your eyes. 2x a day in the beginning, now 1x. Really helps, is natural and relaxing.

I also have Sjogren’s and Sicca Syndrome with Keratoconjunctivitis. I ended tearing the tissue on my right eye about 12 years ago (what a way to welcome my 40th birthday with a trip to 7 different doctors because of working out of town. Which they were all great working me in.) Finally after a 45 sec surgery to clean up my eye it healed. I have tried lubricants , gels ( I still use gel drops at night) and I was prescribed Miebo 2 months ago , it seems to help since it’s an oily drop( and salty to the wallet) my eyes have been dry for a long time. I started noticing white flashes at night, then a couple months ago the vitreous gel detached causing my floaters to merge which is scary ( I yelled at the wife to watch out for a deer right by our car and it was just my eye.) Sadly 2 years later after my incident my wife and son were wrestling on her 40th birthday week and his toenail done the same thing to her eye, needless to say our eye doctor gave us his personal number to call him on emergencies since hers has tore a few more times , mine did once. I have to force myself to yawn to try to make tears. Sjogren has caused me a lot of problems, it all started by asking the dentist why my tongue was white all the time and he knew what it was because his wife had it
I was interested to learn from my ophthalmologist that staying hydrated is helpful for dry eyes. I'm afraid I'm guilty of not drinking nearly enough. I keep telling myself that I need to, but I get busy and forget. I do better when I'm working outside because there's usually a water hose close by, and most of the time I take a thermos of water and another with crystal light or a juice with me. I'm pretty sure most of us need to drink more (not referring to alcohol).
Punctal plugs (although over time mine came out), eye drops, eye drops and more eye drops. If memory serves, I tried cyclosporine but that was many years ago and I didn’t take them long enough to see if it would help…did use the lubricant when the dryness was at its worst…
Which one did you feel the most improvement with?
I won’t be able to afford a monthly cost of $450.00. That’s outrageous.
