I am interested in your feelings about AlgaeCal supplements. I am starting it after years of taking Garden of Life raw calcium and D3.

I started the Algaecal several months ago and within a few weeks my nails were growing and they were really strong. I haven’t had strong beautiful nails for years. I have to trim them often thanks to Algaecal. I figure it must be helping my bones also. Dr. Mc Cormick also recommends Algaecal. He has another calcium supplement on his website but my body didn’t like it because it has some sort of milk protein in it.
Please let me know if I can send you any other details.
All the best,
Candy

Thanks for your comments. I'm just starting to take Algecal. I also ordered Strontium. Any info you have in the future on these supplements is appreciated.

My dexa has been the same for four years...which I am delighted because no bone loss...it is expensive ...

I take algaecal plus but do not take the strontium plus. In the
past before I knew I had severe OP I wasn’t all that regular taking calcium/vitamin D supplements as they were quite binding. Have not had that problem with Algaecal plus at
all but it is pricy. I also
supplement with Dr MCCormicks Osteostim and
Collagen with fortibone.

I’ve been taking the products that Dr. McCormack sells on his website. Two different supplements and a collagen mix. Not too expensive. After reading (mostly) his book, I just felt that the supplement information out there was so complex that I would just trust him, use his products, and hope for best. I think that I really needed the collagen because I am a vegetarian.
Also, on Evenity.

I have taken Fosmax, had the Forteo shots , now on Boniva.
Seems to really aggravate my acid reflux.
Anyone been on Prolia!

I am supposed to go on Fosamax when I finish the Evenity. I am worried enough about that that I will ask my endocrinologist if I can just do Reclast.

I've been on Prolia for a year and a few months with severe osteoporosis. Initially I had some muscle pain - not too bad. But I started on Evenity after 4 vertebral fractures for a year with great success then immediately went to Prolia. Apparently my doctor said my case is rare. After a year on Prolia all parts increased in bone density except my spine. I lost 12% in bone density. Needless to say I'm very worried and wondering what to do next. I think most people don't have this odd situation. There seems to be no good answer on what medication to take. Each doctor has their own thoughts. You have to advocate for yourself.

It is so scary for all of us and I am so thankful for this forum and all the ladies sharing their stories. I am 64 and am seeing an endocrinologist from Stanford. My spine is -5 and I am very nervous about taking these meds but will be starting evenity soon.
Praying it works and my body does well with it.

Evinity took me from -5 or 6 to osteopenia. It's the best drug for a year
After that is when the problems begin. Prolia almost killed me...and there are no choices that are decent. I'm frightened...

Hi Sammy,
I am so sorry to hear that about the Prolia.
That’s amazing you had such great gains with Evinity. I worry about what’s next as well. I still have not started anything by due to some issues with my jaw. They were afraid to put me on evinity because of a very small risk of jaw issues so now they want me on tymlos. That worries me because my hips are also bad and from what I understand evinity does a much better job building spine and hips. Are you a slight built person? I have a very small frame and very small wrists and bones however I am almost 5’8”.
Have you seen Windyshores post about reclast. She is so lucky to have a good doctor who is allowing her to try a very small test dose if reclast.
Please let me know how you are doing.
Best wishes for your next step in this process.
