Shoulder Replacement Support Group

Has anyone here had this option on shoulder surgery?

its been a year since my shoulder replacemnt and my shoulder makes a lot of noise when i do rotations, no real pain, just noisy....should i not do shoulder rotations, and what about planks, or is the noise just something that is normal and i will deal with it.

Have you talked to your doctor about the noise your arm is making when it rotates?

From what I’ve read: No bra for some time. I have bought several single piece mid calf short sleeve loose kaftans, simple and stretchy and light weight. I also got some loose knit cardigans and the tennis shoes you can just slide into and the heel pops up on its own. Lipsticks changed to lip gloss in fat tube.

Hello! I am 45 yes old I had a total shoulder replacement done in 2019 in Baton Rouge, La. It was the best thing for me. Pain relief and range of motion have been spectacular. My only challenge has been finding, setting, and honoring my limitations. Because I feel so much better and have longed to have full mobility of my right shoulder and arm I can get carried away. So I have to limit weight and repetitive things to a bare minimum. I do have fears about having to eventually having a reversal in the future. There has already been some arthritic changes around the prothstisis in my bone. I was told to "ride it out" by my orthopedic surgeon. I would love to hear from anyone with similar concerns. I love my replacement! I can sleep better, I can lay on my arm. I still toss and turn. I have to keep taking moloxicam 15mg and Tylenol as needed. I can reach above and behind more than before! My doctor used technology to map out my surgery and custom fit my prothstisis in advance to my surgery using MRI technology. I have no screws! I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the information. I’ve been getting cortisone shots in both shoulders every 3 months for several years. (Already had both knees replaced) I’m reluctant to obtain shoulder surgery due to recovery time. My range of motion is limited now and I can no longer use nsaids only Tylenol due to kidney removal. I would appreciate any information about pros and cons of various methods for the replacement.
