Did your wife get a diagnosis? Steroid injections can help, but they can also be temporary if you have trouble figuring out what’s causing the problem and re-injure it again.

I also have chronic right wrist pain, but on the outer (lateral) side from a sprain. I saw a hand specialist, but he was no help. My PCP referred me to an occupational therapist (OT). They specialist in hand and upper extremity injuries or limitations, splinting/bracing, and adaptations for disability or injury. She’s been amazing and way more help than a doctor. She recommended the correct type of splint and when to wear it, along with exercises to improve it after the pain calmed down, plus recommendations on how to adapt to do things while I’m recovering.

That could help as well, in addition to or after steroid injection perhaps.
