@josephene I am having terrible insomnia as well. Nothing seems to help. Any specific suggestions? Many thanks.

Lorazepam can be addictive. I caution use of this. It also caused my speech to slur. And made me more at risk for falls, which happened and I broke my leg. So please be careful if you choose this drug.

Hello! I am very glad Remeron is helping you. I recognize everyone is different, but just as a precaution, I gained over 20 pounds in one month on Remeron. Just wanted to let you know so you are aware. Good luck!❤️

I’ve been on mirtazapine since June and was aware of the weight gain issue. Just gained a couple pounds. Well worth it for me

I took Remeron at 15mg and 7.5mg for 5 months. It didn't help me sleep and I didn't gain any weight.

Had insomnia for years. My Dr prescribed oral progesterone and it has been great. Fall to sleep naturally and no after effects next day. Take it about 1 hr before bedtime. Staying on strict sleep schedule as well. Get outside in first 2 hrs of morning to get natural light for at least 15 min.
Best sleep ive had in years.

I just started topical yam cream progesterone for my sleep issues (wake at 3/4/5 and cannot get back to sleep). I am wondering how long the pills took until you noticed a difference. Thank you.

What dose of mirtazapine do you take? Does it help you sleep through the night? I fall asleep, but wake after 4 hrs and can't get back to sleep. I tried it once at 7.5mg but was so tired the next day I never took it again. The tiredness lasted 3 days. I was thinking of trying it again at half that dose.

I was on 7.5 then 15 mg of Mirtazapine for 6 months . I have 7 different chronic digestive disorders for 11 years now .
I rarely weigh myself as I’ve been same weight ( probably 40 lbs over what I should be ) for 15 years.
I weighed myself after 6 months on the drug and I gained 10 lbs !! I’m so sick 🤢 and was eating even less than usual. I didn’t put the 2 together til I just read comments.
I take 10 mg Ambien for years . Was on 5 mg for 4 years now 10 mg .
It only keeps me asleep 💤 3-4 hrs at most . I decided to break in half , take 5 mg at bedtime and 5 mg at midnight when I wake up again . It seems to work better for me that way .
I’m off the antidepressant now . Honestly probably need to go back on one because my digestive disorders are so bad and chronic , it’s getting me so down . I’m crying too much . Best wishes on finding the right thing to help you sleep. Even when I do sleep o have such fatigue in daytime ;( .

I’ve been taking 7.5 mg for about a year as well as see a sleep therapist who’s great. She’s the one who prescribed it. I’m groggy initially when I wake up but it pretty much goes away. I’ve tried a variety of things, including cognitive behavior therapy but this is the first thing that helps me sleep through the night in years. I have times when I don’t sleep great, but overall, it has made a difference in my life! I’ve toyed with cutting it back, but haven’t done so yet.

I've found getting a good night's sleep helps.
