How soon does one secure lodging for a 3 month stay? Mayo Rochester
Tentative date is late March, prefer a home atmosphere, looking at Covered by Faith rentals. I don't want to wait too long or do people secure lodging once have a date? Who can assist you with this process?

Hello!
I secured long term lodging at Centerstone Plaza in their full kitchen suites. Hoping it will be a good fit for me & caregivers. Love having shuttle, in pet friendly bldg, breakfast, etc. The price was very reasonable. I did stop at Cancer Education Ctr & their lodging rates / hotels.
I go March 4-7 for tests & April 1st is my date to start at Mayo.
I'm ready to start this next journey.
Many good options have been given. Broadway Plaza is a great place, but they do not allow pets. The Berkman is a hotel/apartment that is across from the Saint Marys campus. They are pet friendly, have multi-room setups and have a shuttle that can bring you to the Downtown campuses. They will have discounted rates for Mayo Clinic guests as well. I will include their information below.

The staff at Mayo will treat you well ❤️
Hi
Im at Mayo Rochester now for my 4 days of testing. Staying at Centerstone Plaza in a suite with kitchen. First day here.
Hi Bev, Just wanted to check in with you to see if you’re still anticipating a stem cell transplant. Have you had any confirmation of a donor or dates?
Hi Lori
I had my sct on May 7, went well. I'm currently getting platelets, blood, magnesium & potassium. Mouth sores are here, entering my toughest part of journey. I'm staying at Centerstone Plaza extended stay,l going well. Like using the shuttle every day of week.
I'm hanging in there. One day at a time.
Congratulations on the transplant, Bev…though for the next week or so you may not think it was the best idea. ☺️ The first couple of weeks, until your new cells engraft, are usually the roughest. Especially as your blood numbers drop. You’ll hit a low point right before engraftment. When that happens and the WBCs start recharging, you’ll begin feeling so much better and the mouth sores magically disappear. Just a warning that they can get pretty nasty. If that happens don’t hesitate to tell the doctor/nurses on your team. They’ll move mountains to help you cope with that!
Ah, I remember all those infusions well. Lots of butt time in the Clinic while that happens. One thing you might want to consider in a few weeks or whenever you switch from the mag infusions to oral, if interested, check to see if you can take Magnesium Glycinate instead of the Mag Citrate that’s prescribed. It’s MUCH kinder on the gut! Not sure who your team pharmacist is, but Gabe cleared the Pure Encapsulation Mag Glycinate that I had asked him about. Ordered from Amazon. Five years later and I’m still taking them by choice.
Thanks for sharing your good experience at the Cornerstone Plaza Extended Stay. Nice to hear that’s working out and the shuttle is so convenient!
When you’re feeling better, if you’d like to share your transplant story, I posted a discussion a few years ago where several of us have kept the conversation going. Would love to have you join in! No pressure because I know these first few weeks are all about rest and binging on Netflix. Haha

Wishing you a speedy engraftment. Hugs!
They still do that. We continue to stay at GOL, gift of life. Where there for 6m post DLT. Having others that have been thru, in, or post transplant is a great support. And the staff is amazing, but yes when full they assist finding other places.
Check out. The Nazarene house. Excellent
