Welcome, the bariatric journey (or any weight loss program) is a lifestyle change and long term. Take your time, research options, ask questions, talk to professional and people who have been through process.

If looking at medical clinics, make sure you choose one that works with you before surgery and after. My surgery was over 10 years ago, and I still go back for yearly rechecks, blood tests and counseling. If I have a problem, I have a contact person to reach out to. I did diet education and a weight loss program prior to surgery at a local clinic with a nutritionist and then had surgery and all follow up at Mayo Rochester. Mayo OK my pre-surgery education at local clinic rather than their pre-surgery education because it was very similar.

Good luck with whatever option you choose.

Laurie

Hi, I have been waiting to hear about the group meetings I believe are on Wednesdays? I don't know if I am to hear from someone or do I call to set up a time for me to go? I live in Barron and I really can't afford to go to Eau Claire every week. I am sort of getting discouraged about having the surgery since I don't know when this all takes place. I have seen a Nutritionist and Doctor for my beginning exercises.
