Omental caking from carcinomatosis suspected
I'll try to make this short. Over Christmas I was found unconscious from covid, pneumonia, sepsis and organ starting to shut down. I lost 4 days and don't remember anything. Now yesterday I was getting a lot of discomfort in my chest and stomach area. Went to the ER and they did a CT Scan and suspect omental carcinomatosis. It's difficult to even find any information on it and from what I've read it comes from ovarian cancer but I've had a total hysterectomy. Since I just found out about this and I have an appt on Friday with a rectal surgeon/doctor for other problems I'll hopefully find out more. Just curious if anyone has any information on this. I truly hope they are mistaken but for some reason I feel like something is going on as I've lost 30 lbs (but that could have been covid) and have constant left sided pain. A few years ago I had arranged for my body for research as I have an inoperable meningioma on the brainstem, a Bochdalek hernia surgery that failed, two uretas, plus a few more incidental findings so this comes as no surprise to me.

I am so sorry this is happening. I am hoping your appointment will be helpful.
I encourage you to Write down your questions, anything you think of before you go in. It's always helpful to have them ready so you don't forget anything.
Prayers!
Tomorrow I go and I do have so many questions. The main one is if it is what they're saying where to go? Moffit or Orlando Cancer Center. I think it will depend on who has the most history in dealing with this. On top of this I have brain fog from Covid. I've lost 30 lbs and it hurts to sit on the toilet (LOL)...has to be something funny about this whole thing. Thanks for your prayers.
Hi @carsok, Phew, you’ve been on a quite a wild medical ride since the holidays! How frightening to have lost those 4 days due to covid and now this new complication. I hope everything turns out well for you. I see you have an appointment tomorrow with a surgeon so hopefully you’ll have good news.
I’m loving that you’ve kept your sense of humor through all of this! I get it! I was the same through all of my cancer odyssey and humor really helped get me over some of the worst parts. I can totally relate to sitting on the toilet and having those butt bones hurting!! I had lost 40 pounds during my ‘trip’ and wow…besides being cold all the time, finding a comfy chair was difficult.
Best wishes on whatever lies ahead! I’ve heard good things about Moffit and of course, there’s Mayo in Jacksonville…just sayin. 😉
Hugs…Let me know what’s next for you, ok?
I will. Hopefully tomorrow some answers. I've been to Mayo for other things so there are lots of choices.
@carsok, any update?
I meet with a surgeon to have a biopsy next week. Do have an appointment coming up with Moffit. It's the not knowing that's hard. Wish I had a definite answer. I'm still losing weight but the wheels move so slow and everyone has a different opinion. Did have a PET Scan and hopefully the biopsy will give a definite answer. Thanks.
