Grover’s Disease
Hello-I am a 54 year old, active female recently diagnosed with Grover’s Disease. It started shortly after having an MRI. And it started on my neck and went up behind my ear. It is now on my stomach and back and arms. Is there a correlation between the MRI and Grover’s? I’m also a runner but have been running in freezing temperatures, not heat as suggested in much of what I’m reading.
Thanks for any help you may offer including any suggestions on helping to get rid of it.

Have you considered trying fresh cilantro instead of the capsules? The reason I ask is that fresh cilantro was a miracle for me. I started it and within 3 weeks could tell it was helping. After 2 months I was 90% better. Over the holidays I took a 10 day trip and I switched to capsules and by the end of my trip, my itch was popping back out. I know that cilantro doesnt work for everyone so I don’t mean to harp on about it. We are all on our own journeys. Just wanted to share that for me—fresh worked and capsules didn’t. Wishing you all the best as you search for relief!
Appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately, I can't stand the taste of cilantro so I tried the capsules. Apparently, it doesn't work for everyone, like most things. I'll always have the fresh in reserve in case the itch becomes unbearable.
There is an extremely helpful discussion of GD here:

I use the oil. It’s believe it’s more effective
Would you mind sharing the brand and dose of the oil that you take? Thanks!
Noticed your comment re. being affected in cold climate. I too am usually bothered during winter here, but not during 110 degree summers. Most entries point to heat a culprit--- again we all seem to have such different experiences. Mine usually is "on" ~ 6 mos. ; but now it has returned a year later!
I use Herbana Cilantro oil. Available on Amazon along with many others. I usually do 2 1/2 droppers. A bit higher dosage, once a day.
Thank you! I haven’t tried the oil. Just capsules (which did not work), and fresh cilantro (which did). Would you mind sharing a little more about your experience? I have a couple of questions: Do you take any other supplements along with the oil? Do you take the oil straight, or mix it with something else? When you started it, how long did it take for you to notice positive results? I have an older friend who is suffering with an itchy rash, and I’m afraid that blending fresh cilantro daily would be difficult for her. The oil would be easier. I’m so happy to hear that it works for you
My Grovers started after my shingles shot. I did the fresh frozen cilantro for two years. It eventually worked for a while and I had a minor relapse. I started doing the oil with little success, but stayed with it. The most effective way I found for stopping the itching was ice packs. It was very effective. I also started using Zostrix, inexpensive, Amazon, which really seemed to help. I am no longer itching, but continue the oil every day with water or a fruit smoothie. Nothing seems to work for everyone. You just have to keep at it.
Heated homes, warm winter clothing, and warm bedding in winter causes Grover's to flare.
