How about a laugh, (hopefully)
I believe laughter is the best medicine. Laughter has actually been scientifically proven to help people with depression issues.
Let’s give it a try so we can all get happy and feel better. Many Epilepsy forums I’ve been on had joke sections. I was probably the biggest joke of all since I didn’t get a lot of the jokes. They said the jokes couldn’t be above 4th grade level for me to understand them so my jokes may be rather simplistic but let’s give it a try.
Have a lovely day everyone,
Jake

"Psychology behind the unfunny consequences of jokes that denigrate," Thomas Ford, The Conversation, 9-6-16.
If you eliminate denigration as an acceptable criterion for joke-telling, then you can kiss goodbye 99% of political humor.
The important thing, which I unfortunately need to get better at, is to discriminate and tailor your comedy to your audience.
"'It's just a joke': the subtle effects of offensive language," Christopher Hunt, The Conversation, 7-13-16.
There's a big difference between making fun of someone because of their racial or ethnic heritage and slamming somebody for doing stupid/vile things. Both are forms of denigration.
I tell a lot of self-denigrating jokes. Are there deleterious psychological effects from doing this?
Like it or not, most jokes rely on somebody or some thing being their butt.
Hi all,
Let's not take this discussion off topic. It has been a fun diversion of humor. Mayo Clinic Connect is about sharing health experiences and giving and gettting support. Laughter and humor can also contribute to recovery, hope and healing.
Let's not get into a debate about what consitutes humor. What may be funny to some may not be to others.
