Sinus pressure after sinus surgery
About two years ago, i had sinus surgery. Soon after i noticed pressure across my sinuses and face. The surgeon checked and said everything was fine. I went on to get a second and third opinion and all the ent's said the same thing. i have recently been seeing a neurologist who is treating me for chronic tension headaches but she cannot explain what causes the pressure. it is very debilitating, painful and seriously affects my quality of life. Does anyone have any ideas or experienced the same thing?

My neurologist believes i suffer from chronic tension headaches. He has tried several different oral medications but they were not effective. He is treating me now with Botox and that has helped a lot.
@reginad - Hi. I experienced the same post surgery. Not sure how far out you are from yours.
I’ve seen ENTs who are honest and some not. The honest ones share with me what they know about the anatomy.
These surgeries can mess with th entire trigeminal system. And the pressure headaches can be caused from the absence of positive pressure that the nasal/sinus tissues once relied on for relief and signaling.
In fact one ENT shared that an open noses and sinuses isn’t always a good thing. And most original pain complaints at an ENT are never nasal/sinus to begin with. And all sensory, of course, so removing tissue does not help this.
It’s the devoid of highly integrated nerve structure and tissue high up that typically helps with sensation, temperature etc…
Nose and sinuses are not meant to be static and that’s what these surgeries do, which results in the tension. Think of keeping your fist tightened and never being able to release it. That’s how the inside of nose/sinuses can end up, hence the tension headaches.
