Metformin and frequent urination, especially at night: Tips?
I just started Metformin 6 days ago, and last night I was up every 1-1/2 hours to urinate! I can't take this every night. I'm thinking of stopping Metformin?

I take 2-500mg metformin 2 x a day. Two are taken at bedtime. I do get up every couple of hours to urinate. I noticed that the less carb type foods I eat during the day, the less I need to get up. So I would suggest try cutting down the carbs to see if that helps. It would not be safe to stop Metformin without your doctors instruction to do so.

Hello, I am glad to hear that helps. If you don’t mind me asking, do you take your Tamsulosin in the morning or evening? My Father felt like it hasn’t helped him any so we just switched it to his morning meds. Hoping to see an improvement.
