Hi @mari . While it is ideal to do something new, we encourage people to do all sorts of activities to keep their brains active. There is no magic to doing crossword puzzles over other cognitive activities, but there is also nothing wrong with them. The key to cognitive activity is DOING IT, so if the mental activity one person enjoys and will do is the daily crossword, then we encourage them to do it. Crosswords may rely on words already in your brain, but the mental activity is accessing and creatively coming up with those words from cryptic clues. Bottom line, do what you like to do that is mentally stimulating. And, the more novel the activity, the more challenging (without being frustrating) the better. Thanks for the comment!
