This week is World FTD Awareness week, where individuals, families, nonprofits, and research centers around the world join together by telling stories, so that we share hope, compassion, and solidarity with those impacted by FTD. Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) is a neurodegenerative disease in which affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. It is the most common form of dementia in people under the age of 40.
Mayo Clinic is working every day to #endFTD. As co-directors of the ALLFTD study, Mayo Clinic seeks to better understand FTD so that one day treatments may be available. ALLFTD is not the only study seeking to understand and treat FTD, the Association for Frontotemporal Dementia has a list of active studies looking for participants on their website.
Together we can #endFTD. Tell us where you find hope where you find hope in the comments below.
