Patti LaFleur is the former care partner to her mom, Linda, who lived with mixed dementia. Patti has harnessed the power of social media to educate, break down stigma and share how she and her mom found joy in each day, living well with dementia.  With over 40,000 followers, Patti’s message has an enormous reach.  She does not shy away from the difficulty, tackling tough subjects like grief.  She has appeared on many webinars and blogs, speaking about her approach and philosophy, explaining how the care partner relationship is both give and receive.

Recently, Patti presented a webinar on the Knowledgeable Aging Website Finding Joy In Dementia - Changing the Stigma - Knowledgeable Aging. We hope that readers and listeners may be inspired by hearing Patti and her mom Linda’s story.

Patti is active on Instagram as “@misspatticake,” as well as her website, Care Partner Patti.

Went through dementia with my in-laws and my mother. Now my husband has dementia with Lewy Bodies and joy is not one of my emotions. Been through both experiences and caregiving for spouse, especially young onset is totally different and unspeakably hard.
