I got my flu shot this week!!
Is anybody else ready for the flu season?

Got mine last week, husband got his two weeks ago. Husband goes next week for his two year post-transplant biopsy and meeting with the transplant team.

@rosemarya I got my flu shot two weeks ago. They say it can take a couple of weeks to take effect so I wanted to get it in advance of our upcoming vacation that starts on the 10th. I will probably wear a mask 😷 on the flights too. I don’t like wearing one but it’s better than getting sick. Getting legionnaires last December really made me conscious of my vulnerability.

@gingerw my two year visit is actually in December even though my transplant was in September. They scheduled it a year from my last visit.
I can’t believe it’s been two years since life began again.

I took masks on our trip, but we never felt the need to wear them, thankfully! We were outside a lot of the time and it wasn't crowded there.

Had my flu shot 3 weeks ago, scheduled hip replacement for Dec., at Mayo. Feeling good!

I had to get my monthly B12 injection the end of August, I asked if I could get the flu shot. They had just gotten it in the day before, but the "Old Age" injection/mixture did not come in. I had to wait until September 26th before I got my next B12 to get my flu shot. I do not know how long I have gotten my flu shots, haven't had the flu – bad cold, but no flu.

I forgot to add that I had my transplant 10 years ago and I am sure I started getting my flu shots while I was on dialysis.

It seems odd to me that the doctors around here don’t have the high dose flu shot so I had to go to Walgreens to get it! I suppose if you go to a geriatric doctor they must have the high dose shot but I go to a regular internist. That brings up something I have wondered about – why do people change to geriatric doctors? My PCP seems perfectly happy having me as a patient, I don’t think he sees a need for me to change. I will ask him about it the next time I see him, which hopefully will not be for a while.
