PREsTo: Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Risk Estimate Tool

In an effort to better predict the outcomes for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) patients, Mayo Clinic researchers have created a new tool called the Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Risk Estimate Tool or PREsTo.

The prediction tool was developed and validated through the use of machine learning, a type of artificial intelligence designed to derive patterns in clinical data gathered from several hundred patients with PSC. Of note, the novel prognostic tool outperformed other currently available tools. These findings were published in the journal Hepatology.
