Coronavirus

Today I wanted to post the now updated Alzheimer's Association Caregiving Tips during the Coronavirus pandemic. You can access that story through the link below:

We are having another wave of COVID patients now with the Delta variant across the Jacksonville area, and maybe you've heard about that in your area, too.  Some people I know are being told to telework again, or wear masks in public again, even if vaccinated. The advice seems to be changing daily. Many of you may find yourself rethinking your current plans, just as you thought things were getting back to normal.  It just shows this whole pandemic recovery is complicated, and not linear.

Let's hang in there.  This too shall pass!

How are you coping with the pandemic now as a patient or care partner for someone with MCI?

Not much has changed since the pandemic began to spread last year. Except for doffing the masks, we continue to practice caution and good hygiene, as well as read the daily information on Covid-19 in our area. The infection numbers have not increased as yet and the Delta variant has not been discovered in our area as yet either. However, should the numbers begin to increase substantially and the Delta variant is reported, we will begin wearing masks when in public places and gathering of people. Being diligent and responsive to change is how we live in these days. We aren't suffering any increase in anxiety and we will continue to use public transportation and use proper PPE. We agree with you, Dr. Chandler. This too will pass. Just don't panic. Pay attention and be smart.
