Meet new MCVP volunteer Xiwen Hu! You may see Xiwen volunteering in a few different service areas downtown, including the Charlton Subway Welcome Desk, Infusion Therapy, and Chemotherapy.
Q: Are you originally from the Rochester area? If not, where else have you lived?
A: No. I was born in China and came here with my husband in 2016 for his research. I am now living in Rochester.
Q: When you aren't volunteering, what else do you like to do?
A: I enjoy housekeeping and resale of my daughter's clothes or toys to prepare more fun stuff for her. Gardening is also fun in summer.
Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A: Water, a knife, and an umbrella. I hope I can bring endless water. 🙂 It must be too hot there. So I need an umbrella to create a small shelter.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: My cutest 3-year-old daughter is my proudest accomplishment so far. It is good to see her development and growth, which brings me love, happiness, and a sense of satisfaction in life.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Mayo Clinic?
A: Nice people and very friendly environment.
Welcome to the team, Xiwen!
