Meet new Mayo Clinic volunteer Suwayda Abdi! An 8th grader at Rochester Math and Science Academy, Suwayda will be serving in our Young Volunteer program. You may see her visiting inpatients with the hospitality cart at Methodist.
Q: Are you originally from the Rochester area? If not, where else have you lived?
A: I was born in Rochester and have lived here all my life.
Q: When you aren't volunteering, what else do you like to do?
A: Play basketball and participate in my school's media group, which presents the student news.
Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A: A map, water, and a pencil so I can journal on the back of the map.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: Getting straight As my whole life.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Mayo Clinic?
A: Getting to know people.
