New Volunteer: Dean Wang

Aug 25, 2022 | Sarah Palmer | @sarahpalmer

I am pleased to introduce Dean Wang as one of the newest members of our Mayo Clinic Young Volunteer program! Dean is about to start his sophomore year at Century High School. In his volunteer role, he will be assisting patients and visitors in a variety of ways on the downtown campus.

Q: Are you originally from the Rochester area? If not, where else have you lived?
A: I’m not from the Rochester area. I was born and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Q: When you aren't volunteering, what else do you like to do?
A: In my spare time, I like to play tennis, binge TV series, read books, and swim.

Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A: I would take a salt to fresh water filter, a fishing rod, and a flint and steel.

Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: My proudest accomplishment is being the top rookie for my tennis team.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Mayo Clinic?
A: I love the variety of places in Mayo Clinic. You could eat chocolates at one end, go shopping at the other, and meditate as well.

Welcome to MCVP, Dean!
