Running out of ideas on what to eat once you get to the soft food diet stage following bariatric surgery? Look no further, we’ve got a few for you. Remember food volume at this stage should be 4-6 oz total or ½-3/4 cup per meal.
- 1-2 cooked eggs + ¼ cup applesauce
- 2 oz chicken salad made with light mayo + ¼ cup peeled apple slices
- 2 oz chicken + ¼ cup green beans + 2 tablespoons mashed potato (white or sweet)
- 2-3 oz fish (cod, salmon, tilapia) + 2 oz cooked green beans
- 1/3 cup light Greek yogurt + 1/3 cup cooked oatmeal
- 3 oz tofu + 2 oz cooked carrots
- ½ cup cottage cheese + ¼ cup diced canned peaches in 100% juice
- 2 oz lean ground beef + 1 tablespoon shredded cheese on a street taco size tortilla (4-inch diameter)
- 3 oz tuna salad made with light mayo + ½ medium banana
What were some of your go-to meals while on the soft diet?

It is very important to eat healthy food. But also, you need to learn how to feel hungry, and not snack all the time. Sometimes, you just need to drink a glass of water, and not rush to fill your stomach with unhealthy food. Although I'm not an expert. I adhere to these rules myself and have no problems with excess weight.
Hi @alexdousen - have you had bariatric surgery? Regardless, I appreciate that you are listening to your hunger and satiety signals, and in turn, slowing down before you jump to mindless eating. Way to go!
