2023 HABIT Planners still available!

Feb 8, 2023 | Dona Locke | @DrDonaLocke

We at the HABIT team hope your 2023 is starting off amazing!  If you've reviewed the information here that describes the HABIT program, you've seen that a foundational component of our intervention is teaching people to use a memory support system (MSS) or organizational day planner. The specific planner we developed had always only been available to our patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment who attend the HABIT program (and their partners). Last year, we were grateful to partner with the Mayo Clinic Store so that we could offer our planner system to the public for the first time.

This year, we've upgraded the system. The paper is more durable and the covers are now vegan leather, rather than vinyl. There are also two color options (blue and grey). So far it seems like people still prefer the blue cover, but I myself have enjoyed my new grey one! In addition, last year there were some states to which the Mayo Clinic Store could not ship, but that that restriction is removed this year. We can ship to all 50 states at this point. So, if you are still looking for a planner for 2023, I hope you'll consider trying this one!

I'll briefly remind you of that our research shows us that the MSS is helpful in improving daily functioning and confidence in those with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and helps improve mood and mitigate the increasing burden that can develop over time in partners of those with MCI, We’ve also written here about research on the memory advantage of using paper planners vs. technology as another reason we’ve stuck primarily to a paper planner system.

You can follow this link to order directly from the Mayo Clinic store. The set comes with a cover and all of the inserts you will need for 2023 as pictured below. If you try it out, we welcome your feedback!
