Webinar: Obesity 101

Thu, Feb 25, 2016
1:00pm to 2:00pm ET

Description

“Get Up! Your Life Might Depend On It” could be the headline of this webinar. In fact, it’s the title of a book by leading obesity expert Dr. James Levine, a Mayo Clinic obesity researcher and co-director of Mayo Clinic/Arizona State University Obesity Solutions.

In this one-hour webinar, Dr. Levine provides journalists with the latest obesity research and offers his suggestions on how the United States can shake off its excess weight – along with the enormous health and economic costs that come with those extra pounds.

Dr. Levine serves as an expert at the United Nations, an invitee to the President’s Cancer Panel, and a consultant to governments internationally. He is the Richard Emslander Professor of Nutrition and Metabolism at Mayo Clinic. He holds five tenured professorships at ASU, is the Dean’s Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, and the Regents Professor at Umea University, Sweden. He also serves as the co-director of Obesity Solutions, a collaboration between Mayo Clinic and ASU, and is the international director of Obesity Solutions’ sister center in Sweden.
