Description
Caring for the Caregiver Support Group meets weekly on Thursdays from 12-1 p.m. MT (Find your time zone.)
This is a group specifically for those who care for a loved one- regardless of their medical issue. This group was formed as a way to connect, share and receive support from others navigating the often overwhelming journey as caregiver.
All caregivers welcome. The group is for caregivers, so we respectfully ask that patients not attend. Currently the group meets virtually via Zoom.

I am extremely stressed about my daughter's cancer recurrence. She will not talk to me about it.
I don't feel she's taking care of herself, but she's an adult so I cannot do anything.
Dear Friend,
I can imagine your stress and concern for your daughter. My oldest struggled with chemical dependency for 20 years. It drove us insane. I reached a point where I could sort of detach from her but not the 5 kids she accumulated along the way! My advice is to take care of yourself first. Eat well, walk every day and get good sleep. A cup of Sleepy Time tea at night helps believe it or not! Home cooked meals are a blessing--to anyone and everyone. I make family favorites and double the amount--dropping off 1-2 meals a week. I remember one time in particular, when she was pregnant with #4 and just completing another treatment program. She was so skinny. I was certain our little Jayden would be born with multiple problems. Did I say she was sooooo skinny!! And half way thru her pregnancy. I was so sad and scared. A voice (probably my dear Father's from heaven) said, "just feed her!" And I did! Jayden Jax was born on Jan. 26 2019 over 8 lbs. He is healthy and smart and the light of my life. He is a miracle to me. There was nothing I could really do except take care of myself to BE there. See if you can find some healthy menus for her and drop off a meal or two a week. Good luck to you and your daughter!
