Description

Lyra is a comprised of guitarist Maryanne Kremer and violinist Allen Ames. The duo's notable performances include appearances with the Phoenix Symphony and Dave Brubeck in addition to their many concerts around the state and their annual summer residency at the Briar Patch Inn in Sedona. Part of their unique sound comes from Allen's trademark Violira - an instrument of his own design with a range of five octaves, from the upper notes of a violin to the baritone of a cello - that allows the duo wider freedom with melody, harmony and rhythm.
